TM & DB to hold charity concert for CMC Vankhosung

Wokha, July 30 (MExN): With the objective of ensuring ‘sound operation’ of Christian Medical Centre, (CMC) Vankhosung, the Team Metamorphosis(TM) along with Diversity Band (DB) will be organizing a free will concert at GHSS Auditorium, Vankhosung on August 15. A press release issued by the organizing committee, TM stated that CMC Vankhosung was once privately run by Lotha Baptist Church Association (LBCA), and was among the most respected hospitals in and around Nagaland rendering services to people from all walks of life.

“Even people from far off places like Tuensang, Zunheboto and Mon visited the Centre to get their treatments and go back satisfied with the service rendered,” it said, adding that it was also called a centre of excellence for the poor and needy people as it gave treatment at minimal or no cost at all.

However, the CMC functioning had stopped for some time due to some or the other reasons, the release said.

“Some intellectuals and well wishers by the name Dr Rilanthung Odyuo and group once came up with the challenge to take up the deserted institution on a lease with the LBCA Vankhosung at least to save it  from “decaying and being wasted,” it informed.

The LBCA needs to be acknowledged, since they set up the CMC Revival Committee, whose dedication and selfless effortsmade it possible in reviving the long felt project, it added.

The release further informed that during the TM’s maiden visit to CMC, the Assistant Managing Director, Chumbeni Odyou said that the mission project was taken up as a challenge, in spite of the grievances to bring basic health facilities and structure for the needy in and around the community.

She also stated they are planning to bring in specialist Doctors to the CMC every month in the days to come, it said.  As of now Chumbeni informed that an eye specialist is available on Saturday and Sunday and asked for support to “achieve their goal towards mankind.”

In this connection, the TM urged that every right thinking citizen should come out and support this noble cause. It further noted that while the free will contributions received from the charity concert may not be much, the team is optimistic that it can atleast lead to achieve “something good with its gesture and help in whatever capacity we can.”
