Mon, September 1 (MExN): The Tobu-Mopong-Longching Area Joint Committee (TMLAJC) for NH 702 and 702B and elders called on the Minister NPWD (National Highways) Nuklutoshi and engineers to share the grievances of the people and address the need to construct the proposed two National Highways in the area.
The team met the authorities concerned with requests to denounce all forms of obstacles to the attempts to introduce national projects to Mon district by certain elements.
The Convener Aknyu Konyak, Co-Convener AM Kaiba Konyak and Secretary Hongnaw HA Konyak in a press release said, “The Minister has in principle assured us in a joint sitting on August 31 at his official resident in the presence of engineers to go ahead with the work as per the report of the agencies studying feasibility and also preparing the Detail Project Report (DPR).”
The government also announced the errors made in the item notification inviting tenders (NIT) where NH 702D was wrongly recorded as NH 702B and assured us to make hard copies public with corrected notes, the release added.
The TMLAJC and its people also assured all possible help and cooperation with the state government and implementing agencies as and when the consultancy firms begins studying feasibility and preparing DPR against the said projects.
The TMLAJC for NH 702 & 702B therefore, fervently appealed the Konyak Union, intellectuals and all stakeholders to stand by the Minister and the department with unconditional support and cooperation and work hand in hand while executing the project that benefits the people.
