To IM, K and NNC: Any alternative but to reconcile and unite?

The NSCN (IM) and (K) hurl accusations against each other almost everyday. The NNC/FGN writes only about their glories non-stop and claim that they only are the true nationalist. Don’t they realize that the Nagas edifice is cracking and leading to a collapse by their insane words and actions?

As hundreds of others under gunpoint, I too am a taxpayer to the Naga underground groups. But I no longer want my hard earned money to be collected or extorted by our so called national workers for ‘national cause’ any more. They use this money to buy guns and kill each other. My soul is tortured that, that bullet that has killed a fellow Naga by a fellow Naga might have been purchased with my hard earned money.

I grew up in Mokokchung during the 1970s and 1980s. It was so peaceful and free. We played in the streets in the evenings for as long as we liked, sometimes upto 11:00pm or even beyond. We had nothing to fear and we enjoyed the sun. The 1990s saw my freedom and the freedom of my fellow citizens of the town being snatched away by the cadres of the NSCN (K). The town was so free then, but I saw life come to a halt with the shops closing by 01:00 pm. The nights were filled with darkness and fear. After more than 10 years of this, the people revolted that saw the August 2003 uprising. Before this, because of the situation, disgusted, I left Mokokchung. I am still angry with the NSCN (K) because of their actions, for making me dislike Mokokchung, the town where I was born and brought up. The town that I loved. Let the leader of NSCN (K) please think about that.

The NSCN (IM) accuses the NSCN (K) of hobnobbing with the Indian Army. But if the IM continue to hunt and kill the (K) as well as the FGN cadres under whatever reasons, with their backs pushed on the wall, will they not take refuge under “my enemy’s enemy is my friend” adage? I think the IM is pushing the K and the FGN towards the open arms of the Assam Rifles. Let the leadership of the IM think about this.

The Adino faction of the NNC does not tire shouting that since they have not signed the Shillong Accord, they need not condemn it. What uttering nonsense. Please don’t be half clever. My neighbour was robbed last night. I have not robbed him; neither do I have the slightest idea who did it. Hence I should not condemn it? If I do not condemn what is wrong, is it right? If I do not cry out against injustice meted out to someone other than me, is it just? Silence is acceptance. If a criminal murders and innocent, NNC will not condemn it because they have not committed the murder? Designated Camps are a product of the ceasefire, it will cease the day the ceasefire ceases. Transit Peace Camp is a product of the Shillong Accord. Let NNC please think about it.

Because of your financial fights, the best of the Naga youths are backing off from the National cause. We are ready to die for our National cause, but not for Isak or Muivah or Khaplan or Adino. Different Naga underground groups-forgive, reconcile and unite! Thousands of the best Naga youths are ready to join the movement, but not under the present condition. Under the present situation, you will get only the misfits and the drop outs, who will untimely kill the movement, How? Just let the ceasefire be abrogated-the Indian Security Forces shall pick you up one after the one. There will be no protection of you against the Indian Security forces from the public who are fed up with the dictates of the IM, K and FGN misfits masquerading as ‘national workers’. Leaders of IM in particular, the Indian Government knows this reality. Therefore, will they really strike a deal with you during the ceasefire? If so, good. If not-you know the consequences better than me.
