The declaration of the Naga Civil Societies not to pay tax to Naga factional groups and illegal organizations is appreciable. However, it may be stated that there is no logical reason as to why the Nagas Civil Societies of Dimapur should try to negotiate with the very organizations who are imposing these illegal taxes on the people living in Nagaland. Is it not the fact that these heavy taxes are due to emergence of so-called Naga National factions?
Therefore, unless the Naga National Workers are brought together under one Umbrella as desired by the Nagas, no tax should be paid to any faction which should be the right stand of the Naga Civil Societies, Dimapur, Nagaland. The Nagas never sent the Naga UG to kill Naga or to collect tax. And how many Naga Governments shall be there before we have achieved our common goal??
Further it may be mentioned that the order of Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur Smti. Husheli Sema IAS, prohibiting the GB’s to collect taxes for the Naga National Factions is timely rescue for the GB’s of Dimapur and highly appreciated. The State Government is expected to enforce same throughout the State with immediate effect and to take action accordingly.
