Nagaland: 87 new cases detected, tally stands at 3,118

Dimapur, August 12 (MExN): Nagaland registered 87 new COVID-19 positive cases on Wednesday, taking the state’s tally to 3,118. Out of the new cases, 48 were from Dimapur, 35 from Kohima, three from Zunheboto and one from Wokha. 

Confirming the news of the detection of new positive cases on Twitter, Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom said the new cases have been detected out of 614 samples tests. The Minister informed that “necessary contact tracing” has been activated, and urged the people of the state to wear masks, keep distance and stay safe.

As per the daily bulletin issued by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, as of 3:00 pm on August 12, out of the total 3118, there are 1991 active cases in the state with 1113 recovered cases.  The state has registered 8 deaths out of which 7 are COVID-19 related while “1 death is COVID-19 positive but not due to COVID-19,” as per the bulletin. 6 cases have reportedly ‘migrated.’
