Wokha, September 9 (DIPR): The monthly District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on September 9 at Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, Wokha under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman DPDB Wokha and DC Wezope Kenye.
The board approved registration of Lt.Thungchamo, Thungsali Trust under Merapani and Self Help Group under Pangti village. Dr. Meribeni Murry (Tobacco Control Board) while highlighting the activities undertaken by the board, said that so far the board has covered 24 Schools under the district imparting awareness on the harmful effects and use of tobacco. He also informed that more of such awareness campaigns and programmes will be carried out in the coming days on the ill effect of tobacco use.
With regard to Tokhu Emong celebration, SDO (C) Wokha requested all head of offices under the district to extend support towards the Hoho for the successful conduct of the festival. Project Director, DRDA, Thungdeno Mozhui informed that District Development Co-ordination Monitoring Committee meeting will be held on September 13. In this regard the Chairman requested all departments involved in implementation of central sponsored schemes to come prepared for the meeting. Power point presentation was given by Agri and Horti department.
