KOHIMA, April 22 (MExN): The Nagaland Police has assured citizens that those extending genuine support in maintaining law and order or combating crime and drug trafficking would be duly recognised and rewarded, with their identities kept confidential. “Together against drugs — together for a safer Nagaland,” the police asserted on Wednesday.
Setting an exemplary action, the Director General of Police, Nagaland, has granted an Out-Of-Turn promotion to a constable, elevating him to the rank of Naik, for his role in the recovery of one kilogram of heroin and the arrest of an accused linked to a major drug trafficking network operating across Manipur, Nagaland and Assam.
The officer was cited for exceptional courage, dedication, and outstanding performance in the line of duty. The drug trafficking network, which had operations spanning three states, was dealt a significant blow following the constable's crucial contribution to the operation, Nagaland Police said on Wednesday.
The DGP recognised the officer's exemplary sense of duty and unwavering commitment to combating narcotics and ensuring public safety, the police said in its statement.
Nagaland Police said, “This achievement reflects the strength of police-public cooperation and reinforces our collective commitment towards building a drug-free and safe Nagaland.”
