DIMAPUR, MAY 24 (MExN): Zunheboto district held its quarterly District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting with Member of Parliament (MP) Lok Sabha and chairman DISHA, Tokheho Yepthomi and MLA Dr Sukhato A Sema.
In his opening remarks, MP Tokheho Yepthomi said that from this year onwards the state government has to release the state share of 10% after which only the central government will release its 90% share within the next 30 days.
He also informed the members that all the ongoing projects and schemes has to be completed by the end of the year only then the central government will give the next project or schemes while also adding that the state government is not allowed to keep any central sponsored schemes or projects money in saving accounts.
The MP requested the departments implementing Central sponsored schemes (CSS) and projects to make sure that every project is completed on time and to make sure that the very projects and schemes reach the beneficiaries.
Upon presentation of various central sponsored schemes being implemented by the department of agriculture, medical, food and civil supplies, power departments, rural development and R&B, the MP asked the agri department to encourage the farmers by giving them all the facilities available including finance. He also urged the department to identify various fruits and vegetables which can be grown in that particular land so that the villagers can not only feed themselves but can also export it to other places thereby earning more revenue.
The MP requested the power department to try to make a power generating plant so that we cannot only be consumers but also producers. Towards this, he asked the power department to send proposals for setting up power generating plant at targeted places. The MP asked the medical department to make awareness programmes on TB and HIV AIDS. Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto Rahul Bhanudas Mali chaired the meeting.
