Tokhu Emong cum Mini Hornbill Festival: ‘Outstation Artists Nite’ held

Wokha, November 6 (MExN): Youth Resources & Sports advisor Er Zale Neikha today graced the ‘Outstation Artists Nite’ marking the second day of Tokhu Emong cum Mini Hornbill Festival under the aegis of Lotha Hoho at Wokha.   Addressing the gathering, Er Neikha while expressing that music has always been an integral part of human life in all forms of culture since the primeval times of history, said that music as an art is widely recognised, accepted and appreciated worldwide, irrespective of language barriers.   On the same note, he said since time immemorial, music has always been part and parcel of the naga culture and traditions.   “Music is in our blood and we are second to none in this art,” Er. Neikha said while justifying that the oral traditions of our past have been kept alive through the medium of folk tales and songs.   The Advisor also opined that a blend of folk songs with western music can be a new genre that can promote and popularize Naga culture, at the same time earn fame and glory - for, in Music, there is nothing to lose; rather it has plenty to offer.   Meanwhile, Er. Neikha said “Wokha district is popularly known to the outside World for ‘Doyang River and Amur Falcons’ and are admired for their sincerity, dedication and hard work,” he said.   Extending warm Tokhu Emong greetings, Er. Neikha hoped that the festival which is associated with ‘harvesting of crops’ would foster brotherhood and oneness among the Lothas and Nagas.   De Band, Tune up channel, Mokokchung and K3M performed at the event.
