Kohima: Kohima DC & Chairman DLFSMEC, Kohima W. Honje Konyak, inaugurated an irrigation dam at Tora constructed under NFSM, Department of Agriculture.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC ask the VDB and village leaders under Kohima district to judiciously used funds under MGNREGA, VDB, NRLM, GIA etc, citing that lots of funds are made available for uplifting rural livelihood through these programme and must be rightly invested with community participation. He pointed out the achievements of the agriculture department through community participation in developing such low cost and need based infrastructure that will go a long way in supporting the irrigation needs of vast paddy field in its command area, which is the lifeline of one third of the farming population in Tora area consisting of Kezo Basa, Kezo Bawe, Sakhabama and Kezo town.
He appreciated the works of Officers and staffs of DAO Kohima and also Calling on the slogan “ Back to the field” he ask all concerned to put their whole hearted efforts in their farming activities which is the backbone of human sustenance and also upgrade and maintained whatever infrastructure the department has developed. DC also launched two vernacular booklets about SRI and NFSM written in Tenyidie.
Earlier Nosezole, DAO & PD ATMA Kohima, chaired the programme; Kekhriletuo Yhome APPO, DAO Kohima, gave a brief report about the project. Helie Riiprio Joint Director & NFSM Scheme i/c also apprised farmers about NFSM while Soleho Sr. Pastor KBC invoke God’s blessing and Chairman KVC pronounced the vote of thanks.
