ToT on Micro Credit Plan for NSRLM staff concludes

KOHIMA: Training of Trainers on Micro Credit Plan (MCP) for staff of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) was held from March 11 to 15 at AIDA, Dimapur.

The schedule consisted of theoretical and demonstrative classes and field exercises. Resource persons were T. Ravinder Rao, K. Venkateshwar Rao and P. Umapathi from NRLM Resource Cell, NIRD, Hyderabad. Trainees were taught introductory aspects of MCP and preparatory MCP exercises were carried out with four SHGs in Aoyimkum Village, Chumukedima RD Block, Dimapur. Formats were prepared with the help of SHG members on MCP features such as; Comprehensive profile of SHG, Socio-economic profiles of members, Member-wise Income and Expenditure statement, Member-wise portfolios of opportunities identified by them with costs and repayment schedules, Prioritization plan, Rotation plan and Micro Credit Investment Plan for SHGs.

A valedictory function was held on March 15 at the conference room, AIDA with CEO, NSRLM Visasolie Lhoungu delivering the concluding remarks. In his address, he stated that Micro Credit Plan is one of the most important components for success of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) programme. He stressed that SHG members with NSRLM staff as facilitators need to be thoroughly aware of the subject and how to carry out MCPs so as to better enhance the groups to strengthen their existing livelihood. Expressing gratitude to the resource persons from NIRD, he requested for timely and continued services from the institute in order to ensure attainment of goals. Giving a short speech during the function, T. Ravinder Rao assured all assistance whenever required, and also informed that a special Training & Capacity Building plan was being formulated especially for Northeast States which has already been approved by the Ministry of Rural Development. Findings were presented by trainees and discussions were held on how best Micro Credit Plan can be adopted and implemented by the SHGs nurtured by the State Mission.
