MON, JUNE 12 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Mon has imposed a total lockdown of Mon Town from June 12 to 15. This has been done in view of the impending arrival of returnees from Dimapur and proposed testing of the returnees in the Quarantine Centres. Movement of public is strictly prohibited except on medical emergencies while all shops will remain closed except pharmacies. Movement of private vehicles is also strictly prohibited. Office of DC, SP, Banks, Fire and Emergency Services, Health & family Welfare, Power, PHED, Treasuries & Accounts, PWD (R&B), Paramilitary Forces are exempted from the purview of the order. Meanwhile, movement of essential commodities and goods vehicles is permitted. The total lockdown is enforced with a view to facilitate to transportation of people to various Quarantine Centres in Mon District and collection of throat/nasal swab for COVID-19 testing.
