Total lockdown in Peren dist from June 30-July 5

Peren, June 27 (MExN): The Peren District Administration has imposed a total lockdown in the district from June 30 to July 5, as a precautionary measure to prevent local or community transmission of COVID-19 in the district.


In an order issued on June 27, Peren Deputy Commissioner Sentiwapang Aier stated that the exercise has been deemed necessary in view of the large number of returnees completing their facility quarantine and being sent for community/home quarantine as per SOPs. 


During the lockdown period, only the exempted categories related to COVID-19 services such as medical, police, administration, all frontline workers involved in COVID-19 duty, those involved in farming activities and people on medical emergencies shall be allowed movement with necessary permits. Only pharmacies will be allowed to open.


However, all safety measures such as compulsory use of face mask, frequent hand washing/use of hand sanitizer and maintenance of social distancing shall be strictly adhered to while carrying out COVID-19 duties, the DC’s order stated.
