Total lockdown in Tizit and Mon sub-div on May 26, 27 respectively

Mon, May 25 (MExN): In view of the arrival of the stranded persons from different parts of the country, a total lockdown is enforced in Tizit sub-division on May 26 and in Mon sub-division on May 27 with the following conditions: Movement of public strictly prohibited except on medical emergencies; All shops except pharmacies will remain closed; and Movement of private vehicles strictly prohibited. Deputy Commissioner Mon, Thavaseelan K IAS in a order stated that the total lockdown is enforced with a view to facilitate transportation of people to different Quarantine Centres of the District. Any person found violating this Order will be penalised under relevant provisions of the law, the DC Mon added. 


Domestic animals not let out of their respective homes
The DC Mon in another order stated that in view of several Quarantine Centres being set up in different parts of the District, it is hereby ordered that all domestic animals especially dogs be kept chained (not let out of their respective homes) at all times with immediate effect until further notice.


The Order said that this is a measure initiated to reduce any possibility of transmission of infection through the domestic animals while rummaging the garbage disposal areas at the designated Quarantine Centres. The owner shall be held responsible and is liable to be punished under Disaster Management Act, 2005 in the event of non- compliance of this order.


“This is issued for strict compliance,” the DC Mon stated.
