Tovihoto addressing the gathering during the election campaign meetings held on February 16.
Dimapur, February 17 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for 1 Dimapur-I Assembly Constituency H Tovihoto Ayemi has held election campaigns in various wards over the last two days.
On Friday, he addressed supporters from NST, Chakhesang, Rajbari (Nyamo Lotha Road), Eros Lane, Supply, Forest Nepali Basti and Circular Road (Bishop House) colonies and areas in two locations. Ayemi outlined the strong commitment of the Party and its vision to take Nagaland forward in terms of development and progress.
According to a press release, he referred to the Party’s election manifesto for the upcoming election, and highlighted the initiatives for women welfare which included providing free-of-cost, quality education to all female students from Kindergarten to Post Graduate level, a bond of Rs. 50,000 to be provided on the birth of a girl child, free scooty to meritorious college-going female students in the state, etc.
Tovihoto also stressed on the BJP's sincere commitment to preserve the rich Naga identity and culture with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore besides other investments for the same. Also highlighting the special package for inclusive development of eastern Nagaland, and added welfare schemes for old-age pensioners, welfare schemes for farmers and agricultural sector, he assured the public that the people of Nagaland would reap maximum benefit by voting BJP to power.
He said that the BJP-NDPP alliance is rock solid and will have a stable government and shall further work together for over all development of Nagaland like it had done in the past.
On development activities, Tovihoto point out that developmental activities are gradual process which cannot be achieved overnight and that he would continue to work with vigour to accomplish the goals of the constituency.
As per the release, ward/colony representatives and leaders who spoke on the occasion expressed firm and staunch support for Tovihoto. ‘They said no one else in the past has done what Tovihoto has done for the constituency,’ the release stated.
Among others who spoke at two meetings were Nagaland state BJP president, Yuva Morcha, who dwelt on the commitment of the BJP to introduce various schemes for self employment of youth and skill development.
Similarly, on February 16, Tovihoto also addressed the election campaign meetings in Ward No. 7 and 8 (Xuvihe, Sema Tilla, West Yard, Lower & Upper Manipuri and Railway/Netaji colonies) and asserted that “BJP-NDPP alliance is rock solid and shall further work for over all development of Nagaland.”
A press release received here stated that he also highlighted the election manifesto while assuring the public that the people of Nagaland would reap maximum benefit by voting BJP to power.
In her address, Usha Bajpai, Nagaland Election Poll Incharge and NEC member, National, Mahila morcha said “the BJP in Centre is aware of how Tovihoto has been efficiently and sincerely working to uplift the people and he will carry on forward with same commitment,” the release stated.
