Don Bosco Kohima year long golden jubilee celebration from January 31

The yearlong golden jubilee celebration of Don Bosco Kohima will be kicked off from January 31 under the theme ‘Towards a better world with Don Bosco.’
Don Bosco Kohima was formed in 1971. Altogether, 3588 students have passed out HSLC from 1975 till 2020. 1141 students passed out HSSLC (Science: 1997-2020) while another 858 passed out HSSLC (Arts: 2011-2020) from this institution.
Presently, Don Bosco Kohima house 2200 students (from nursery to higher secondary including Don Bosco College).
Briefing media persons here today, KD Vizo, chairman Don Bosco Kohima Jubilee Organizing Committee said the year-long celebration will be marked by series of activities like music, art, literary and others. The year-long celebration will culminate by the second week of November 2021.
In the midst of 50 years of academic excellence and service, it will be a celebration of grace and blessings,’ Vizo said, who is also alumni of Don Bosco Kohima. Vizo informed that the organizing committee had several round of meetings for successful celebration of the golden jubilee.
The launching ceremony of the golden jubilee will take place on January 31 at 4:00 PM within the premises of Don Bosco Kohima.
Among others, the launching ceremony will be marked by flag hoisting, lighting of lamps, release of golden jubilee sky lantern and launching of jubilee commemoration music/video album.
KD Vizo will deliver welcome address while brief history of Don Bosco will be given by Fr. Innocent Panmei sdb, vice-principal, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School.
Dr Zavei Hiese (1st Batch) and F Kuriakose sdb will take time for “Reminiscing the past.” Greetings will be shared by Fr P Suresh sdb, Rector & Principal Don Bosco College and Fr TP James sdb, Principal, Don Bosco Kohima.
Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor IT & C, Science & Technology & NRE, Nagaland will deliver speech. Vote of thanks will be proposed by Vitsu Peter Yhome, General Secretary Don Bosco Kohima Jubilee Organizing Committee. All the past pupils of Don Bosco Kohima have been invited to the celebration.
