New Delhi, June 23 (Business Today): Etios Liva, Toyota's new small car, will hit the Indian roads on June 27, with the launch scheduled in New Delhi. It is estimated to be priced between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 6 lakh. The Japanese auto major had earlier deferred the launch of Etios Liva in April. However, with the overwhelming response it got for its sedan Etios, Toyota brought forward the launch date to June, to reduce the long waiting period for the car.
Etios Liva is essentially a hatchback version of the sedan and will be seen with a smaller 1.2-litre petrol engine and later with a 1.4-litre diesel engine. Liva will be Toyota's foray into the highly popular premium hatchback segment. The company said the car is stylishly designed for today's youth and will be competitively priced, offering functionality and value for money.
Keeping the target customer in mind, Toyota has lined up a slew of youthful and fun filled activities as part Etios Liva's marketing campaign. The show stopper is the TV ad campaign, which will feature music composed by maestro AR Rahman.
The concept vehicles of the Etios and Etios Liva were first unveiled at the Auto Expo last year in Delhi, creating a buzz, and later traveled across the country with the 'Toyota Q-World' - reaching out to more than 1 lakh prospective customers.
