Toyota rolls out its new ‘Rumion’ model in Nagaland

Prioritising its shift towards providing a more eco-friendly vehicle with increased safety features, Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) rolled its brand-new model, the ‘Toyota Rumion’ in Nagaland at an unveiling ceremony here at the Okusa Toyota dealership located in Walford road, Dimapur on September 13. 

Dubbed as the Prestigious Family car with its front face inspired by the popular Innova model series, the new seven–seater Rumion, features a powerful 1.5 litre-K series petrol engine. It will come in five colour variants, rustic brown, iconic grey, spunky blue, cafe white and enticing silver. 

Speaking during the launch event, Managing Director and CEO, Y Vikheho Swu stated that with the first dealership being opened in Nagaland in the year 2013, today they have expanded to Kohima (sales and service outlet) and Mokokchung (sales outlet) as well. “Ten years down the line, through the continuous innovative interventions from region authorities the TKM has begun to develop and extend ease of business to this part of the country for the benefit of all of us,” he said. 

He mentioned that with renewed efforts to deliver its products faster to customers from this region, Toyota has not only confined its boundaries to car business alone but has also support the local community by sponsoring the Hornbill Music Festival in the year 2022 and will continue to do so in 2023 as well. 

Throughout their presence in the state, the company has further tied up with Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC) Dimapur to train the youths in skill development needed in the automobile industry, he added. “Okusa Toyota has also started absorbing students from this institution to our facility.”

According to the Okusa dealership, the most popular variants this year have been the Innova and Urban Cruiser Hyrider models.

In regard to the new Rumion, it will come in petrol (NeoDrive) and E-CNG power train options to suit customer preferences and needs. On top of this, it offers several tech features such as the Toyota i-connect, smart-phone and smart-watch connectivity, an advanced 17.78 cm smart-play cast touch-screen audio with wireless android audio, apple car play among others.
