TPO says it stands ‘unbiased & wholly prepared’ to strengthen Naga Hoho

Kohima, June 27 (MExN): The Tenyimi Peoples’ Organisation (TPO) has viewed with regret the impasse within the Naga Hoho, which it said is detrimental to the cause of the Naga people and negates the very purpose of the Hoho.

In its presidential council meeting held on June 23 at Tadubi Town Hall in Manipur’s Senapati district, hosted by the Mao Council, TPO further resolved that the organization is “fully committed to the Naga people living together as a people and thus it stands unbiased and wholly prepared to strengthen the Naga Hoho.”

On the Naga political issue, the house concurred that TPO fully supports the ongoing Indo-Naga political dialogue and wishes for an expedited settlement which is honourable and acceptable to all concerned parties, stated a press release from TPO president, Timikha Koza and general secretary, Vipopal Kintso.

The members of the house, according to the release, further noted with regret that the differences among unions of taxis plying on NH 29 are causing immense hardship to the people. Hence, the house decided that the TPO should take up the matter and resolve the issue at the earliest.

In the light of Ura Academy developing the Tenyidie language and literature, which is “laudable and appreciated,” the house felt that the same should be made inclusive and promoted in all Tenyimi areas as it belongs to all the ten Tenyimi tribes.

The TPO presidential council meeting also decided to constitute Constitution Amendment Committee with the following members: Kekhwengulo, president CPO (Convener), Ashiphri, secretary administration TPO (Member), Vipopal, general secretary TPO (Secretary).

With the tenure of the present TPO office bearers coming to an end this year, the house further decided to constitute a Search Committee for the next tenure. While the matter has been endorsed to the TPO officials to constitute the same it was agreed in principle that the presidents of the TPO constituent organisations shall be made members to the said Committee, the release added.

For the conference that is to be held on the expiry of an executive tenure, a month time has been fixed for interested constituent/subordinate organisations to propose for the same, the press release said   It was further informed that the house observed a minute silence in memory and homage to Mathibo Dilli, ex-president of Mao Council who died recently.
