United Democratic Alliance (UDA) chairperson TR Zeliang today said  that forming an opposition-less government in Nagaland was a sign of unity and  expressed optimism that the members would work together to push for  Naga political solution before Christmas.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the swearing- in ceremony of YM Yollow Konyak as cabinet minister in UDA ministry at Raj Bhavan Kohima, Zeliang said the meaning of forming an opposition-less government has been translated into reality by inducting one NPF legislator into the State Cabinet.

Towards this, he thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his magnanimity.

On being asked about Rio campaigning for NPF candidates in the upcoming Manipur polls, Zeliang said the NPF invited Rio to campaign for its candidates on the grounds that all 60 members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly came in unison for an opposition-less government and all the parties are together now.

He said Rio has agreed in principle to be part of the campaign but conveyed that he required further consultations with the NDPP.
Meanwhile, Zeliang said that NPF will kick off its election campaign for NPF candidates for Manipur polls on February 16 at Senapati.
