Traffic regulation for assembly session in Kohima

Kohima, March 18 (MExN): In view of the 15th session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly from March 21 to 30, special traffic regulation will be enforced in Kohima as part of the security arrangement.  

A press release from Superintendent of Police, Kohima informed that only vehicles with appropriate car passes will be allowed entry to the Assembly Secretariat.  

No vehicle will be allowed to be parked by the roadside from 6:00 am onwards during Assembly sessions at the following routes: From BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; From Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island; From Classic Island till Assembly Secretariat via Razhü Point.  

The release further informed that heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply from High School junction to Assembly Secretariat via Sanuoru subway during Assembly Sessions, except Government departmental buses.  

Meanwhile, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima Town during Assembly sessions from 7:00 am till the session is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima Town should be completed by 7:00 am during Assembly sessions, it added. Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to be parked along the “D” Block road.  

While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, the SP said police will tow away the defaulting vehicles and the charges will be borne by the vehicle owners.
