Dimapur, May 3 (MExN): No Entry of heavy vehicles into Dimapur from Chumukedima check gate, Dellai check gate, and Newfield check gate will apply from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Further, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply within the city limits during these restricted periods. The new regulations will come into effect from May 5, 2016, a press release from PRO, Dimapur Police informed. It was also informed that the Dimapur Traffic police have marked Zebra crossings at Dhobinalla Junction, Holy Cross Junction and Deluxe Point Junction to ensure safety of the pedestrians. All vehicles and two wheelers at halt or halted in the traffic junctions are not to cross the white- line marker before the Zebra crossings, the release said, adding drivers violating the safety measures will be penalized. Meanwhile, the PRO informed that the parking slots along Nyamo Lotha Road have been marked and parking will only be allowed in the assigned space. No double parking will be allowed. Vehicle owners have been directed to ensure that they park their vehicles in a manner that does not obstruct the free flow of traffic.
