‘Trafficking a grave violation of human rights’

PEREN, July 31 (MExN):  An awareness programme on human trafficking in observation of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2019 was organized by Peren district administration in collaboration with MSK, One Stop Centre, and PMMVY. The programme was held under the banner of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) with the theme ‘You Can Free Me’ on July 30 at Badminton Stadium, Peren. 

 


SDO (Civil) Peren, Rahul Mali IAS in his short speech said, “Trafficking in persons is a serious crime and a grave violation of human rights. Thousands of men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers. Almost every country of the world is affected by trafficking.”

 


Zeliangrong Mother's Association President, ApeunaIheilung and Avika Zhimomi CDPO Peren also delivered short speeches. The programme was chaired by Akosi Khate Sakhi- one stop center Peren while Heiriateile women welfare officer delivered welcome address. 

 


Students from different institutions, Peren town youth organization, Peren students union, progressive Peren and Peren town women welfare organization (PTWWO) attended the programme.
