Training on cash crop plantation

Tuensang: Department of agriculture Tuensang with AVA Farmers Club Alisopur jointly conducted training on cash crop plantation on March 4 at Alisopur village.

Identifying the potential of cash crop cultivation in the area, the training programme was organised with an aim to impart technical knowledge to the farmers in the village.

Earlier in the programme, R. Butang, DAO, delivered the keynote address, where he highlighted on the economic importance of the farmers to tap the potential of growing the crops in the region.

Joint Director of Agriculture Rongseneinla in her short speech encouraged the farmers to grow cash crops with dedication and utilize the resources for better implementation of the technology.

Topics on package and practices for sugarcane and economic importance of cash crop cultivation were discussed by resource person Chingmak, Agricultural officer and Martina, SMS, KVK, Tuensang respectively. Besides, technical knowledge on control and management of termites was also highlighted. Altogether 34 farmers attended the training programme.
