Training & demonstration using pico projector

Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): In order to update the latest technology to the farmers and to disseminate the knowledge through technology, ATMA Dimapur Kuhuboto Block conducted training and demonstration on ‘Micro irrigation system’ and ‘System of Rice Intensification’ on July 25.  

The resource person firstly introduced to the participants the latest technology also known as a pocket projector or a micro-projector; a pico projector is a newly emerging category that encompasses the smallest projectors because they are easy to carry and can handle videos and photos for portable entertainment as well as charts or slides for business or education presentations, they can also be described as multimedia projectors. Resource person for the programme were Ameto Yeptho, ATM (ATMA), Kuhuboto Block and Yimobendang, ATM (ATMA), Kuhuboto Block.

Ameto spoke on ‘Micro irrigation system’ where he presented his slide using pico projector, emphasizing on drip and sprinkler irrigation system. Drip and sprinkler irrigation system are applied in small quantity under pressure to meet the water requirement of crop/plant. Yimobendang spoke on ‘System of Rice Intensification’ where he also presented his slide with the help of micro projector or pico projector; He firstly briefed on the origin of SRI which was developed in Madagascar during the 80’. In this system inputs used is very less as compared to other systems of cultivation. It uses less seed, less water, less plant protection chemicals and fertilizer but uses more of organic matter. He also spoke on the nursery preparation, spacing and careful handling should be done while transplanting from nursery to the field.
