Training on disaster management for youth

Dimapur: The Administrative Training Institute, Nagaland conducted its first training for the year 2014-15 on ‘disaster management for the youth’ on April 5. Altogether 71 youth members attended the training. A press release issued by State Coordinator, ATI Dr. Hovithal N. Sothu informed that topics taken were basics of disaster management, first aid –theory, first aid –practical hands on practice and earthquake safe tips. The resource persons for the day were Dr. Hovithal N. Sothu, State Coordinator (DMC) ATI and Deepak Lama of Central Training Institute, Tuluvi, Dimapur.

In the valedictory function, the Course Coordinator Dr. Hovithal N. Sothu thanked the participants for their enthusiasm to learn about disasters and thanked Home Guards and Civil Defence Department for giving the service of Deepak Lama. He also encouraged young people to stand for clean elections and to cast their vote on the polling day to elect the right person to represent them for the next five years.  On behalf of the participants, Vipulhu Zashumo thanked the Institute and the resource persons for helping them with the much needed knowledge of Disaster Management and First Aid.
