 
                          
                  
Dimapur, May 29 (MExN): A two days home based care training for HIV positive couples got underway today here at the Chavara Home, community care centre at Naharbari village.
The inaugural function was graced by Ashok Singhal, general secretary of the Nagaland Medicine Dealers’ Association, Dimapur (NMDA) as the chief guest. In his short speech, Singhal assured all possible help to the home and also lauded the sisters for their tireless work towards the society.
On behalf of the association, Singhal also presented a certificate to the home which stated that “the NMDA, Dimapur has adopted the ‘Chavara Home,’ community care centre, Naharbari with immediate effect.” “The NMDA will effectively involving in the activities of the home by extending timely assistance in the days to come.” Moa and Darshim Moa, positive couple while delivering message of courage, stressed on the need to have better understanding and affection between positive couples. They also suggested that positive couples should take extra care of health. Naresh Jain, treasurer of the NMDA, Dimapur also attended the programme.
Earlier, the function started with an opening prayer by Sister Lima Rose while the welcome address by Sister Agie and the vote of thanks was proposed by Sister Servia.
The topics of the training include basics of HIV/AIDS, introduction to home based care (HBC), prevention of infection at home, opportunistic infection management at home, family counseling and nutrition.
