Longleng, November 26 (MExN): A one day district level training for nurses of DH, CHC, PHCs and HWC’s/SC on Social Awareness and Action to Neutralize Pneumonia Successfully (SAANS) campaign held at CMO conference hall, Longleng on November 26.
A press release from Media Officer stated that Dr Imtijungshi Aier DPO (RCH/UIP) Longleng in his keynote address spoke on the goal of SAANs that is to intensify action for Reducing Mortality due to Childhood Pneumonia in India to Less than 3 per thousand Live Birth by 2025. He highlighted on the two-fold strategy of SAANs which is capacity building for all Health Workers and ASHAs to assess, classify and treat Pneumonia Successfully and to increase awareness around Pneumonia in the community.
Dr Lingshau James Resource person trained the trainees on the overview of SAAN’s programme, Pneumonia assessment, classification and management protocol for Children and management of Pneumonia/Possible Serious Bacterial Infection (PSBI) in young infants (0-59 days) followed by Pre test and Post test for the trainees and was wrapped up with Group discussion.
