Training for senior NCS officers kicks off in Kohima

Kohima, September 17 (MExN): A five-day training program for senior Nagaland Civil Service (NCS) officers began today at Vision Hall, Training Block, Administrative Training Institute (ATI) in Kohima.

The event, organized by the Department of P&AR and ATI, Nagaland, in collaboration with St. Stephen’s Centre for Advanced Learning (SCAL), New Delhi, marks the start of a crucial initiative aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the state's civil service.

The inaugural session was addressed by Chief Secretary Dr. J. Alam, IAS, who underscored the importance of capacity building among officers. Dr. Alam urged participants to engage actively with subject experts and to leverage the training for developing a structured, rule-based system in public administration.

Additional Director of ATI, Bendanglila, NCS, chaired the program, while Principal Secretary P&AR and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, R. Ramakrishnan, IAS, delivered the welcome address.

Over the next five days, experts from SCAL will cover a range of topics including Policy Formulation & Analysis, Leadership Development, Problem Solving, and Performance & Sustainability. The training session is attended by 21 officers from the Joint Secretary to Secretary levels within the Nagaland Civil Service.
