
Dimapur: Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) of Dhansiripar Block, Dimapur conducted training programme on March 31 at Singrijan Village. According to a press release, the training was conducted in order to bring awareness on formation of CIGs and FIGs and for promotion of composite maize.
Tsipongse Anar, Inspector of Cooperation and BTT member spoke on the topic “Formation of Cooperative Society”. The resource person explained that the main objective of the department is to render service to the weaker sections rather than making profit. Cooperative societies are easy to form and have a stable life, he stated. He gave detailed information on formation of cooperative society, condition of registration and advantages of cooperative society. He further encouraged the participants for self-help instead of dependence and advised them to take the advantages from the government.
The resource person for “Promotion of Composite Maize” was Ronchamo, A.O & BTT Convenor. He gave detailed explanation on package and practices of maize cultivation and encouraged the farmers for maize cultivation as it gives good economic return, high nutrition to the consumers and also all parts of the crop can be used for food and non-food products. Altogether 40 participants attended the training. Composite maize seeds were distributed to all the farmers.
