Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Nagaland organized a two day introductory training on fruit drying and marketing on November 8-9 at the Centre for Excellence and Renewable Energy (CERES), Dimapur.
An interactive five-day training programme on “Introductory to marketing of agricultural products” was also held from November 12-16 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, informed a press release from State Coordinator, Nagaland Climate Change Adaptation-North Eastern Region (CCA-NER) Dr Cressida Jamir.
Participants in the training included young local entrepreneurs and the Farmers’ Producers Organisations (FPOs) from all the districts in Nagaland.
The training was facilitated by Kerry Kyd, Director, Market & Capacity Building, Time for Sense, South Africa and Anand Banerjee, Manager, Research & Advisory Services, Yes Strategy, Mumbai.
The training focused on enhancing the knowledge of the local entrepreneurs and FPOs on market-oriented production process, market research and value chain analyses, marketing strategy, negotiation tactics, research for gathering missing data and economics calculation.
The key lessons that the participants learned were how to do market research for consumers and retailers, identifying market competitors and strategizing their own products and cost calculations.
