Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): The District AIDS Prevention & Control Unit (DAPCU) and National Health Mission (NHM) Dimapur conducted one day training on HIV & Syphilis for Sub-Centre ANMs of Dimapur district on July 12 at CMO Conference hall, Dimapur.
Dr K Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer Dimapur in his welcome address stated that Dimapur is one of the highest prevalence in Nagaland and for which collective effort and contribution is required to find out and curb the problem.
He encouraged the ANMs to be acquainted with the knowledge on HIV/AIDS & Syphilis and to start testing the patients so that everybody will know their status.
Resource person Orenthung, DIS DAPCU shared on the basics of HIV & Syphilis. Basics on PPTCT & Programme guideline was highlighted by Dr Kavito Zhimomi, DTO cum DACO, Counselling on HIV was shared by Mecievinuo, DPO DAPCU and Temsuyanger Aier, M&E Asst, DAPCU highlighted on maintaining of data and reporting at the sub-centre level.
Later the ANMs were demonstrated on HIV & Syphilis testing by Temsu, Lab Technician Dhansiripar CHC.
The programme was chaired by Esther Thira, DPM NHM. Altogether 31 ANMs were trained on HIV & Syphilis.
