
Dimapur, March 27 (MExN): ATMA Dimapur, Kuhuboto Block conducted training cum demonstration on “Managemental practices in dairy farming” on March 17 at Vishiyi Village with Dr. Sentinungla, VAS & BTT Member, Kuhuboto Block as resource person.
Dr. Sentinungla gave a brief description on the management of dairy farming. She emphasized on the importance of cow rearing and its profitability in milk product. Good dairy farming practice underpins the production of milk that satisfies the highest expectations of the food industry and consumers, she stated.
According to a press release, she also said it is important to keep written records of all treatments in an appropriate system to readily identify treated animals. She also elaborated on cleanliness to keep away various infectious diseases. Good dairy farming practice, she asserted, also ensures that milk is produced by healthy animals in a manner that is sustainable and responsible from the animal welfare and environmental perspectives. So, implementing good dairy farming practice is good risk management for the short and long term future of the dairy farming enterprise, the resource person added. She encouraged the farmers to take up such rearing method as it helps generate good income by supplying and selling them to the market. Altogether 40 farmers from various villages participated in the training.
