Training on MGNREGA Aadhar Seeding held

Kohima, June 16 (MExN): Rural Development Block under District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Wokha conducted sensitization training on MGNREGA Aadhar Seeding at Liphanyan Community Hall on June 14. Around 60 trainees, including GBs, VDB Secretaries and Women member from 16 villages under RD Block, Ralan participated in the training.

Project Director of DRDA Wokha, Thungdeno Mozhui emphasised on various RD schemes such as MGNREGA, IAY, and Grant-in-aid. She said that Ralan Block has been selected for Integrated Participatory Planning Exercise (IPPE) because of which the Union Ministry of Rural Development is focusing on the progress of the area. Therefore, she said, the village leaders should create better awareness among the villagers by focusing more on Agri & allied schemes during 2016-17. Thungdeno further said that despite being located along the boundary area of Nagaland-Assam, the Ralan Block has been performing well.  

Resource person of the training, Assistant Programme Coordinator, DRDA Wokha, Mathew Yhome explaining the participants on the importance of Aadhar seeding, said that the main purpose of Aadhar seeding is to have unique identification of an individual. However, he said it is also required to avail the benefits of various government schemes, including Old Age Pension, LGP subsidy, BPL ration and for opening of social schemes of the Prime Minister.
