Kohima, March 30 (MExN): One-day training on ‘alternative to plastic’ was organized by Green Team Kohima in collaboration with Khonoma Students’ Union (KSU) today at Khonoma Green Village.
A total of 55 participants were trained on making paper bag and cloth bag. This programme was organized in line with the government policy on the implementation of a ‘Plastic Free Nagaland.’
Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industries (KCCI) general secretary Akhrie Mor appreciated the state government for their sensitivity and seriousness on the notification to ban plastic in the state.
She asked the students and other participants from women society to be prepared and equip themselves to do away, tackle the menace of adverse effects of plastic on human health and environment.
The Coming Generation administrator Francis Ruangmei said plastics are synthesis from polymer with chemical and has hazardous chemical to human health and environment.
Green Team Kohima comprises of Kohima Municipal Council, KCCI, The Coming Generation, Yard, Project 72 hours, Earth Friendly Generation and concerned individuals for the safer health and environment from different background. Earlier, the programme started with a welcome address delivered by KSU president Kelhu.
