Training on natural tea in Kiphire

The Department of Land Resources (DoLR), Kiphire organised training on value addition on natural tea at Kiphire town with Khumpili, president, Entrepreneur Association Kiphire and proprietor, Smoky Pots as resources person on October 29. 

Sharing on importance of tea, Khumpili said, introducing natural tea is tapping the resources which are found in plenty. He said that we should be proud of your product and not depend on product imported from outside.

Giving keynote address the District Project Officer, DoLR Kiphire shared on the objective of the project and said, “eat what you grow, eat healthy live organic is the slogan of the department and added, if you eat what you grow you are assured of health sovereignty.” He informed that natural tea has more nutrients than processed tea.

He also said the department has identified Setongpila, a mother of three to take up this project in Kiphire.
