A training session on the online civil registration system of births & deaths was held on February 6 at the DESO office, Wokha with Chonbeni Oren Patton, ESP, Kohima as the resource person. Representatives from various villages across the district attended the programme.
The resource person and master trainer highlighted the importance of digital registration, emphasizing how the world is rapidly becoming digitalized and the need to keep up with this progress. highlighted the digitalisation of civil registration processes, pointed out that online registration in Nagaland is currently below 1%, placing the state far behind others. Therefore, she urged participants to stay focused and actively engage in the workshop.
She also mentioned that the first phase of implementation has been completed.
R Thsanso, DESO and Deputy Director, in his closing remarks, commended Wokha for its strong performance compared to other districts and emphasized that this training is a crucial government policy. He also provided an explanation on what a User ID is and its role in the system. He thanked representatives from various villages for attending and expressed hope that they would utilize the training to enhance the service system through digital means, eliminating the need for lengthy and costly trips to town. Finally, he urged everyone to visit the office if they encounter any issues or require assistance.
The programme was chaired by Jimmy Tungoe, IOS, with closing remarks delivered by R Thsanso, DESO and Deputy Director.
