
Dimapur, March 3 (MExN): Altogether 48 participants attended a one day awareness programme entitled, “Climate Risk Management in Agriculture and Allied Sectors” held at CKS Hall, Tuensang on February 26. The programme was organised by Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa, ICAR Research complex for NEH Region, Jharnapani in collaboration with KVK Tuensang.
According to a delayed press note received here, participants were from different organizations including DAO, Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS), ATMA, KVK and progressive farmers from different villages under Tuensang district took part in the programme which was inaugurated by Butang, DAO Tuensang.
In the technical session, the resources persons deal with various issues related to the theme including Climate change - crop production, season and cropping pattern; Soil health under changing climate situation; Agromet Advisories to meet risks in agricultural front; Plant protection measures of important crops with regard to change in environmental factors. The resource persons were Tokiho Achumi, SMS Agronomy, KVK Tuensang; Imtisenla walling. Technical Officer (GKMS); James Kikon SMS (Soil science),KVK Dimapur; and Lireni Kikon, SMS(Plant protection) KVK Longleng.
The programme was chaired by Imtilemla SMS. KVK Tuensang while vote of thanks was proposed by Eliseni Tsopoe, SMS.KVK Tuensang, the press note further informed.
