Phek, August 19 (MExN): A two-phase training on RTI Act 2005 organised by the DoPT, Govt of India and ATI, Nagaland in collaboration with Phek district administration was held in Phek Town.
The first phase of the training was held on August 5 with all village functionaries such as VDB Secretaries and Village Council Chairmen. The second phase was held on August 11, where all the PIOs and APIOs of government departments, NGOs and educational institutions of Phek district participated.
During the training, Lithrongla G Chishi, Secretary, Cooperation Department and Director ATI, Nagaland, Kohima exhorted the participants about the importance of RTI as a tool to bring transparency and accountability in the working system of organizations. She urged the PIOs and APIOs not to conceal information when a common person seeks information from their offices and organizations and also not to consider such information seekers as irritants.
