Training on small stock broiler management

ATMA Kobulong mobilize two poultry farmers group  

Mokokchung, April 15 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Kobulong block, Mokokchung conducted training and demonstration on small stock broiler management at Longpa and Alongchen compound on April 14. Dr. Aoyimsen Jamir, BTT convenor of the block was the resource person.  

Aoyimsen trained the farmers on various areas of management such as construction and maintenance of chicken coops. He mentioned how sanitation is an important element to bird health, informed a press release.  

“Using of indigenously made feeders and drinkers and also installing of the same should be in such a way so as to provide sufficient space for the birds to have access to clean food and water at all times,” he stated, according to the release. He also told to check the birds regularly to ensure they remain in good health.  

Various diseases of the birds were also discussed and demonstration on the technique of administrating medicines to the birds was done.  

Free medicines such as Amixin, Cokiguard, vitamins and mineral powder provided by the Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry were distributed to the farmers, while broiler chicks and feeds were distributed by ATMA Kobulong block.  

In line with the programme, two poultry farmers group were mobilized. Altogether, 22 farmers attended the programme.
