The first batch of Don Bosco Tech, Zunheboto centre was inaugurated at Youth Hall, Old Town Zunheboto on June 18. In collaboration with the Society of Aborigines based in Zunheboto, Don Bosco Tech India will provide skill training in hospitality (Food & Beverage) management targeting the unemployed youth of Zunheboto district.
Shranavas (IAS), SDO (civil) Zunheboto, who attended the programme as chief guest, wondered why the young talented youths of Nagaland need to depend only on government job. He said opportunities are everywhere and that one should venture out and find them.
Er Anguvika Inakhe Yepthomi, Superintendent, Society of Aborigines, pointed out that the vocational training and skill development programs provided by the centre could be considered alternative for younger generations. Declaring with joy that a full-fledged skill development training programme has begun in Zunheboto, he expressed optimism that more such programmes will make entry in the district.
According to trainers Likivi Awomi and Towoto Kinnimy, the first batch comprises of 28 selected male candidates between the ages of 18-26, who will undergo training in the office of the Society of Aborigines at Old Town Zunheboto.
Other guests who attended the programme were Sumi Hoho, Brgt.5th Assam Rifles, representative of Don Bosco Tech India, and all parents of the trainees.
