Participants at the training on watershed management extension technology at the conference hall of the Directorate of Land Resources, Kohima. The training was held from March 30 to April 1.
Kohima, April 11 (MExN): A three day Training on Watershed Management & Extension Technology for officers and ataff was held at the conference hall of the Directorate of Land Resources, Kohima from March 30 to April 1. The training organized by the department of Land Resources and sponsored by ATMA, where around 50 participants attended the Training.
On the first day the keynote address was delivered by Neise Mich, director, Land Resources who dwelled on the importance of ATMA and capacity building exercise. He also gave a challenge to all to give their best saying that the “Department was the Dao (Machete) and Officers & staff were the cutting edges.”
The topics covered by the various resource persons included "Climate Change, Revised Guideline on New Extension Reform (ATMA), Package & Practices of rubber Nursery management and Plantation, Cultivation of Citrus and Cash crops including MAP, Soil & Moisture Conservation Measures etc". On the third day the trainees were taken to the Research & Demonstration Farm, Ruzhaphema for a field visit.
