In Peren, the training was held from August 19 to 20 at DC's conference hall. SDO (Civil) Peren, Shivam Verma, who gave the inaugural address, stressed on the importance of RTI Act in ensuring transparency and accountability in the working of public authorities. He further emphasized on maintenance of proper records to facilitate the RTI.

The training covered various topics on RTI Act, its working and the related practical aspects. The resource persons were EAC Athibung, Lithrila Anar, SDEO Peren, Doris Yanthan, and SDO PWD (R&B), Er. Asembe.

The resource persons presented PowerPoint and held group discussions explaining the various aspects of RTI Act and also clarified the questions and doubts of the participants.

The training in Mokokchung was held at Town Hall on August 20, where Deputy Commissioner, Sushil Kumar Patel said that RTI Act 2005 is an Act to provide right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority.

He maintained that though RTI empowers every citizen with the right to seek information from a public authority, one should not aim for personal gain while applying for RTI. The intention, he said, must be good; otherwise the objective of the Act will not be achieved.

EAC HQ, Daniel Angami and EAC Chuchuyimlang, Meyiazungba were the trainers.
