Kohima, February 6 (MExN): ATMA Chiephobozou block, Kohima organized a day long training on the topic Rural Extension; transferring technology to the doorstep of farmers on February 2 at DAO & PD (ATMA) Conference hall. The training was conducted with the aim to further upgrade the extension skills of the agricultural extension agents. The targeted participants included the block farmers’ advisory committee members, farmers’ friends from respective villages of Chiephobozou block, Agricultural Field Assistants and ATMA functionaries.
During the training, Vizonyu Liezie DAO & PD (ATMA) Kohima briefed the trainees on the concept of extension and the duties they need to perform. In the first session of the training, Kethoneilhou Vimera A.O–II & BTT Convener Chiephobozou block has deliberated on rural agricultural extension, its objectives, different functions and principles. The participants were briefed on the different extension methods. During the second session of the training, Mhasikhotuo Mere A.O–II & BTT Convener Kohima block gave a presentation on ATMA Extension Services. He highlighted the various ATMA activities. The training concluded with a round of discussion hour.
