DIMAPUR, MAY 1 (MExN): The Transport Department, Government of Nagaland has notified that all vehicles (whether two wheeler, three wheeler, four wheeler or commercial vehicles) that are not Bharat Stage IV (BS-IV) compliant shall not be sold in the State of Nagaland by any manufacturer or dealer. This has been in effect from April 1, in compliance to the Judgment Order dated March, 29th 2017 passed by the Supreme Court of India in the W.P.(C) NO. 13029 of 1985 (under Article 32 of the constitution of India). All the vehicle registering authorities under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 have been prohibited from registering such vehicles with effect from April 1 that do not meet BS-IV emission standards, except on proof that such vehicles have already been sold on or before 31st March, 2017.
