Kohima, January 19 (MExN): The Department of Treasuries & Accounts (T&A) bade farewell to its outgoing Principal Director, K Tiayanger Tzudir on January 18 at Directorate of Treasuries & Accounts Conference Hall.
According to a DIPR report, outgoing Principal Director, Tzudir while delivering his farewell speech extended his appreciation and gratitude to the Principal Director, officers and staff for the arrangements and organization of the programme.
Life is a destiny, he affirmed, while reminiscing his school days when he aspired to be an engineer yet he landed up in the department of Treasuries & Accounts as STO in December 1983.
Tzudir said 'he was retiring with full of satisfaction and great happiness' and had no regret in his service career from day one till his retirement for which he thanked the Almighty God. He said the department has expanded greatly in terms of both activities and responsibilities over a period of time. He also recognized that all the laureates under his tenure were not a lone effort but a collective venture supported by officers and staff of the department.
He asked them to extend the same cooperation and sincerity to the incoming Principal Director stating that unity among members would ensure smooth sailing. He also said that he would always cherish his stay in the department and conveyed his best wishes to the officers and staff of the department.
Commissioner & Secretary, Finance, Kikheto Sema, IAS termed the service of the outgoing officer as 'positive' and whose association with him has always been interesting and amazing. He said he was an officer whose remarkable achievements and contributions for the welfare and well being of the department have created an asset rather than a liability.
Principal Director, RN Lotha, who spoke on behalf of the department pointed out the remarkable achievements and contributions of the outgoing officer to the department and also expressed gratitude to his wife by saying that "behind every successful man there is a successful woman".
Director, Treasuries & Accounts, Vahine Thisa who chaired the programme highlighted some of his achievements saying that many posts have been created during his time and many more are in the pipeline out of which service rules and cadre review are almost in the final stage, she said. His contributions and legacy left behind will be an example for his successors in the department to emulate, she said.
Addl. Director, T&A, R N Lama gave a brief profile of the retiring officer. Director & IGP Vigilance Commission, I Meyionen Jamir said that the outgoing officer had an illustrious career.
CT Jamir said that the officer has been blessed with so many qualities. At times, it is because of his charming personality that things were done quickly and smoothly, he said. He congratulated him for attaining 35 years of service and wished him happy retirement life.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Sr. AO NF&ASA, Temsu Longkumer, Sr. TO, OSD Finance, Taliremba, Kekhaho Aye on behalf of District Treasuries, Sr. AO, Amenla on behalf of Accounts officers.
