The Greensight Project in keeping up with its motto ‘Growing Dreams’ has envisaged developing a tree-lined avenue at Mopungchuket village which in due time is expected to enhance the village's scenic landscape.
The avenue will be developed along the Yajen Aier Government High School road in the village stretching a little over 200 metres. Works for developing the avenue began today where widening of the existing road is being undertaken to make more space for growing ornamental trees along the roadsides.
Members of The Greensight Project and the Mopungchuket village council are overseeing the earthworks. The Greensight Project has meanwhile thanked the village council for their support and cooperation as well as the landowners for their broad minded and selfless contribution.
Formally launched on July 26, 2016 by present NLA Speaker Dr. Imtiwapang Aier, The Greensight Project is a 5-year scenic enhancement programme of Mopungchuket Ait Laishir Telungjem (MALT), the village's students' union.
Since its launching, The Greensight Project has undertaken several notable works focused on enhancement of the village's scenic appeal all of which are being funded by contributions from well wishers and the community at large.
Road widening earthworks of the proposed avenue is expected to complete in two days after which pit holes will be prepared to plant superior ornamental trees in the coming planting season.
