Tree plantation drive held at ZGC to promote environmental awareness

The Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Zunheboto organized a tree plantation drive at Zunheboto Government College as part of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative on October 25.

ZUNHEBOTO, OCTOBER 27 (MExN): The Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Zunheboto organized a tree plantation drive at Zunheboto Government College as part of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative on October 25. The event, attended by students and faculty, featured SDO (C) Zunheboto, Sukhalu Chishi, as the special guest.

Vice Principal Jekugha Sema expressed gratitude to NYK Zunheboto for selecting the college for the initiative. He emphasized the significance of such programs in educating students about the importance of environmental protection.

Zakato L. Zhimo from NYKS Zunheboto highlighted the critical need for tree planting, urging students to plant at least one tree in their name and inspire others to follow suit. He also discussed the “Plant for Mother” campaign, reinforcing the importance of nurturing the environment.

During the event, SDO (C) Sukhalu Chishi administered a pledge to all participants, emphasizing the collective responsibility of safeguarding the environment. He commended the attendees for their commitment and encouraged them to persist in their efforts toward environmental conservation.

The program culminated in a mass plantation drive, with approximately 100 saplings planted on the college campus, led by SDO (C) Chishi and Vice Principal Sema.
