The trial for selection of students in football for Tata Trusts Centre for Excellence started here today at Indira Gandhi Stadium.

This programme, to continue till February 29, is being conducted by Tata Trusts Centre for Excellence, Aizwal, Mizoram in association with Nagaland Football Association and coordinated by North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA).

25 young talents from Kohima and Dimapur turned up today.

Interested candidates can come for this programme till February 29. Registration will start from 8:00 AM onwards.
Talking to The Morung Express, Rajesh Siwakoti, senior executive Sports, Tata Trusts said that the Centre will cover Tripura and Sikkim after this Nagaland leg of Under- 15 trials.

He said that once the candidates are selected, the Centre will take care of both academic and sports aspects.
The age group is Under 15 (Born on 2006 & 2007).

In a short period of one and half years, the Centre has produced 4 players for the Indian National Camp in the U-16 age group.

The residential programme will commence by April this year.
