‘Tribal and political colours should be shunted’

CNTC meets PAM Convenor TR Zeliang

Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): Convenor, Political Affairs Mission (PAM) of the NPF TR Zeliang said that the Naga issue is sacred and called for doing away with tribal and political colors.

This was said this during a meeting with the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) President T Lanu Imchen along with his team who called on Zeliang at his Dimapur residence on Thursday.

The meeting was to discuss “the way ahead for Naga solution, which Government of India intends to conclude by September,” the PAM communiqué informed.

In the deliberation which lasted for almost 2 hours, the CNTC made its position clear that it will stand by the resolution of 14 Apex Naga Tribal Hohos adopted on August 11 that Solution should be based on the Framework Agreement and the Agreed Positions between the Government of India, NSCN (IM) and WC, NNPGs.

They also stressed the need for unity for a common Naga accord which should be “acceptable, honorable and inclusive.”

They also stated that a genuine effort by all was needed in order to come to a common platform and avoid any misunderstanding post-accord.

TR Zeliang appreciated the stand of CNTC and apprised them that, in the previous discussion held at Chümoukedima with Apex Organizations in which CNTC could not attend, they had similar perspective and road map on the way ahead to Naga solution.

He was of the view that all tribal apex bodies should be in unison and work towards amalgamation of the various Naga Political Groups so that there is only One Agreement and One Solution.

Zeliang urged CNTC to work in tandem with the other Apex Organizations to achieve the much desired and aspirations of the Naga people.
